Allen Kjesbo, Interim Pastor
Allen Is delighted to be a part of Prairie Hill Covenant. He comes with pastoral experience as a Youth Pastor and as a church planter. He holds a Master in Divinity degree as well as a Doctor in Ministry degree from Sioux Falls Seminary. He loves hearing people’s stories and finds joy in exploring how God is at work in people’s lives. He has a wife, Denise, who is also an ordained minister who serves as the Director of the Masters of Children’s, Youth and Family degree and Bethel Seminary in St Paul. They have a son, Jordan, who has a wife and 2 children in Sioux Falls and a Daughter, Emily, who has a husband and 2 children in St. Paul.
Christian Krohg, Minister of Youth and Worship
I am Christian Krohg, and I am grateful to be serving as the Director of Youth and Worship here at Prairie Hills Covenant. I've been working as a worship leader since 2008 and have been involved in youth ministry since 2010. Furthermore, I enjoy time with my family and I enjoy sports (playing and watching). I am in the process of recording an album of music that I have written.
Here at Prairie Hills we strive to provide a worship service that musically encompasses many styles for a multigenerational time of worship that embodies the unity desired by Jesus's Prayer in John 17. We aim to be intentional about having all generations represented as part of the worship team, and we always have room for another either on the tech team, reading scripture, playing an instrument, or using their vocal talents.
As for our Youth Ministry, I hope to empower and equip youth to lead and to really take ownership of their ministry. Each student has a gift, and it is our responsibility to train them to use their gifts. Our 6th-12th grade ministry is a place where students will be challenged to lead, to learn, and to live with a purpose. Our goal is to provide a safe place for students to "work out their faith" and to lean in to who God calls them to be.
Christian and his wife, Kara, have a one year old son, Caleb. They reside in Sioux Falls.
Kara Krohg, Minister of Discipleship
Kara Krohg is our Director of Discipleship and will be focusing mainly on children’s and family discipleship but she will also work closely with our Jesus School program and other curriculums that will emphasize and shape our Discipleship Pillar.
Kara graduated from the University of Sioux Falls with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education. She went on to achieve a Masters degree in Divinity from Sioux Falls Seminary. She was ordained by the American Baptist Churches in 2015.Kara spent 6 years as the Associate Pastor of Education at First Baptist Church in Pella, IA.
Kara and Christian live in Sioux Falls with their son, Caleb.

Allyssa Welding, Office Manager and Assistant Youth Director
Allyssa has two roles. She is our Office Manager and our Assistant Youth Director. Allyssa duties focus on managing the front office and assisting our youth program.
Allyssa graduated from Southeast Technical College with a degree in Entrepreneurship in 2022, and graduated from Solid Rock School of Discipleship with a certificate of discipleship in 2023.
