Missionaries

Brazil - Wainer & Magui Guimaraes

God has led us to establish a solid core group of people who are now ready to move into the next phase of the ministry in amore structured way as a church institution.

To have a church that creates and develops programs that seeks justice and offers the Good News in tangible and clearly understood terms by the people we are reaching. Please pray for wisdom as we continue the work and take the next steps. And for more people to join us in supporting Project Brazil with prayers and finances.

We are grateful to you for embracing us in prayers and finances, providing all that we have needed to "Go and make disciples of all nations". We are "IN IT TOGETHER"... it is a Family Mission. Thank you.

Sudan - James Tang

One of my roles is to teach pastors how to carry out effective ministries, especially in the field of evangelism and to teach them how to plant churches. Because of a long time of war, many people have been traumatized. I frequently conduct workshops for evangelists and pastors on how to work with those traumatized by war. Because of a lack of trained people, I also coordinate all church building projects. I am also the liaison between the Covenant World Mission office and the Sudan office. Thank you for your support and partnership with us in Sudan mission. Without your support, I would not be able to do what I am doing now, carrying out the Great Mission that God has commanded us to carry out to his people. We are all part of the ministry of Jesus Christ, even if we are not on the mission field, your support is involved in this mission work.

Pray for peace in Sudan especially during the 2011 referendum. Also pray that through this process Southern Sudan successfully become an independent state. Pray that the Southern Sudanese leaders are able to unify peacefully knowing they have one common goal.

Japan - Gary & Pauline Carlson

We have been involved with Pastors Akio and Norkio Kawamura in a revitalization project for the Shonandai Christ Church.

This church, which had dwindled to just five members by 2006, is now growing and has a new vision for reaching a residential area in a new part of the city of Fujisawa. This is a community with no church presence. It has been our privilege to be part of this "church on the move"!

Please pray for God's blessings on the start of church life in a new building., for God's guidance in making good relationships in our new community, and learning what needs are present and how we can respond and for the Gary's preparations for teaching missiology at Covenant Seminary.

We want to thank all of our supporting churches and individual supporters who have given so faithfully and generously to our work in Japan. We know that with the financial support are also the prayers of all of you for our ministry here. You are appreciated!
